I am a contempory celebrant in my mid thirties and I’m passionate about creating the perfect ceremony for you. My background is as an actor in theatre, so I’m used to performing in front of large groups. If your ceremony is above 80 people or in a large open air space, I will provide a microphone and PA system.

Each ceremony I perform is different and unique – no two ceremonies are the same. I offer a free introductory meeting at your home or in a mutually convenient place, for a chance for you to meet with me. At the first meeting I will give you a kit with a selection of poetry, a couple of ceremonies that I’ve performed before and a list of ideas and rituals. I will then take down any ideas you may have of your own and write up a personalised ceremony around you. I try to reflect the personalities and beliefs of the clients in the ceremony as much as possible. If you would then like to proceed with the ceremony, I take a deposit of 50% of the total fee. The remaining 50% is to be payed a week before the ceremony at the final meeting/ rehearsal.

I then write a personalised ceremony tailor made for you. If after the first reading of the ceremony you are not completely happy, I am open to changing anything and rewriting the ceremony as many times until you are 100% happy with it.

NAMING CEREMONIES:

A naming ceremony is a beautiful alternative to a christening. It is a non religious celebration of a child’s life but can incorporate any religious or cultural rituals as well as any of the following:
• A lighting of the Namegiving candle.
• A giving of wishes.
• Releasing of helium balloons into the sky.
• A wish tree or a planting of a tree.
• Godparents/ Mentors blessings and vows.
• Parents vows.
• A grandparents blessing.
• Signing and presentation of Naming and godparents certificates.
• An official giving of the name.
• Poetry and readings.
• Music.

COMMITMENT CEREMONIES:

Commitment ceremonies are a wonderful binding of any relationship. I specialise in gay commitment ceremonies and will work with you to create the perfect ceremony for you. The ceremony can include:
• An introduction and history of the couple – how they met, first impressions and what they love and admire about each other.
• Poetry or special readings.
• An acknowledgement of traditional land owners.
• Vows.
• A ring ceremony.
• Blessings from parents, family members or special friends.
• Signing and presentation of commitment certificates.
• A lighting of the marriage candle.

VOW RENEWAL CEREMONIES:

A vow renewal ceremony is a wonderful way to reaffirm your love and commitment to one another. This ceremony is often performed on a special anniversary and is a way of remembering and strengthening the promises made to one another on your wedding day. It is also an appropriate ceremony for couples who have been reunited after a separation or for couples who didn’t have a particularly personal or intimate wedding day and want to make up for it. Whatever the reason for renewing your vows, it’s a beautiful ceremony and is a way of celebrating the years you have shared throughout your marriage.

The ceremony is similar in structure to a wedding but can include any rituals of meaning to you.
The ceremony can include:
• A lighting of candles. Each candle representing a different year or decade.
• A children’s blessing.
• Renewing vows.
• Giving thanks to one another for the years of marriage.
• A sharing of the wine.
• Ring ceremony or a giving of a new ring or special piece of jewlery.
• A signing and presentation of certificates.
• Poetry and music.
• Support vows from the guests.

FEES:

My fee is all inclusive without hidden costs. It includes unlimited contact with me by phone, email or in person, petrol and travel costs, a personalised candle with names and the date of the ceremony printed on it, beautifully printed certificates, an on site rehearsal a week before the ceremony and any extras you may want on the day such as helium balloons, bubbles or rose petals. If your ceremony is more than 90 minutes from where I live, I charge an extra .60c per kilometre.
